The challenge

To meet growing wastewater management needs and modernize its infrastructure, the City of Edgerton, Kansas, required a new pumping station and force main system to convey wastewater to the Big Bull Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project also involved decommissioning the city’s aging wastewater treatment facility, requiring careful planning and execution to ensure a seamless transition and reliable operations.

Challenge met

CAS Constructors designed and constructed a 690,000 GPD peak flow wastewater pumping station adjacent to the City’s existing treatment plant. The project also included installing approximately 13,200 linear feet of force main to transport wastewater to the new Big Bull Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The system was equipped with air/vacuum release valves, cleanouts, and other appurtenances to ensure reliable performance.

Once the new system was operational, CAS Constructors decommissioned the existing wastewater treatment plant, completing the transition to modern infrastructure. The upgrades provided the City with a dependable and efficient wastewater management system, ensuring long-term environmental compliance and capacity for future growth.
